Early Childhood Assistant Teacher position

The Berkeley School, a preschool-8th grade progressive, independent school in the East Bay portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, seeks a full-time Early Childhood faculty member to join our multicultural, learner-centered community.

As we seek to educate the whole child, affirming the cultural histories and identities of all our students, we seek faculty and staff who are knowledgeable and experienced in helping each student grow. As part of a team of three teachers, you would be responsible for supporting the day to day curriculum. This includes helping with set up, helping to run circle time, getting snack ready, documenting student work for the blog and student portfolios, providing intentional social-emotional lessons, participating in faculty meetings and parent conferences, and engaging in professional development. Assistant teachers also work either February camp or Spring break, 2-3 weeks in summer and help out once a week in the after school program until 4:30. You are paid extra for working during camps.
The ideal candidates will:
* Have a BS
*Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
*Enjoy working in a team environment
*Experience working with young children
*At least 6, preferably 9 ECE units
