Blue Oak School
We are seeking a dynamic and creative STEM educator to provide authentic, project-based and experiential learning opportunities in STEM and one section of 7th grade math. The ideal candidate will understand how to provide rigor and extended learning experiences (making, building, and programming) within the context of a progressive learning environment. Blue Oak is at the beginning stages of building a state-of-the-art STEM program and we are seeking our just-right leader with the passion, vision, energy, skill, and experience to help take us forward.
Requirements:
• BA and prior teaching experience required, MA or related experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to teach integrated STEM content across K-8 grade levels
• Familiarity with curriculum design, including a project-based approach
• Experience in an independent school setting helpful
• Love working with students and creating a joyful learning environment

Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver a K-8 STEM curriculum
• Engage students in designing and making related to classroom study and independent inquiry
• Work collaboratively with faculty to support, facilitate, and integrate STEM related projects
• Further develop, build, and define lab spaces on both campuses
• Work to keep lab organized and well-stocked, with a lending and tracking system for lab materials
• Develop safety and maintenance systems and guidelines for teachers and students
• Oversee the professional learning of the faculty related to educational technology and innovation in conjunction with the Director of Teaching and Learning
• Be the voice of educational technology and innovation, communicating with the school community about our work and development in this area
• Teach one section of 7th grade math, working collaboratively with other math colleagues
• Facilitate a 7th grade advisory section focusing on social-emotional growth
