Summary:
The San Francisco Waldorf High School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced High School Earth Science and Biology teacher starting August 2021.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable teaching Earth Science and Biology main lessons to all grade levels (9-12) and is also experienced with the Waldorf pedagogy and approach to teaching science phenomenologically. The specific teaching load will depend on expertise and interest but could include Biology, Geology, Meteorology/Oceanography, Thermodynamics, and Environmental Science and Habitat.
Our ideal candidate is comfortable teaching all high school grade levels (9-12), excels at teaching to a wide range of student abilities and has sound classroom management.
We are looking for a candidate who wants to join a Waldorf faculty and work in a highly collaborative environment. We are interested to learn what ideas the candidate might like to bring to the high school curriculum.

The San Francisco Waldorf School (SFWS) was founded in 1979 and serves more than 450 students across a parent-child program, a nursery program, kindergarten, and the first through twelfth grades. The high school campus is in the West Portal neighborhood and is easily accessible via Muni lines.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Graduate degree preferrable
· Waldorf Teacher Training completed or the willingness to begin a Waldorf Teacher Training program by the second year of employment with SFWS
· Significant high school teaching or experience working with teens
Benefits and Compensation:
This is a part time to full time position depending on the qualifications, expertise, and interests of the candidate. Benefits are dependent on FTE and may include medical (for .75FTE or higher), dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (employer contributions after one year), and pro-rated tuition remission (by FTE) for eligible dependents. Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
· Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
· Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours
· Be able to occasionally lift to 30 lbs.
