Position:  Substitute French Instructor (Full Time)

Expected Beginning Date: Immediately

Position Description:

The Athenian School seeks a dynamic, student-centered, French teacher (temporary position).

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Teaches four sections of 9-12 grade French courses

•    Presents appropriate language skill-level content to students.

•    Assesses and monitors individual students’ language skill level.

•    Actively teaches and challenges students to improve their French language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*

•    Attendance at department meetings.

•    Attendance at all-faculty meeting(s), if requested by department head or Assistant Head/Head of Upper School.

•    Willingness to meet with students and parents as identified as necessary.

*   It is understood that some of these tasks may require some time beyond a regular workday.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Experience teaching French at the High School Level

•    CPR / AED TRAINED AND CERTIFIED – must have up-to-date certifications in both cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and proper operation of a defibrillator (AED).

•    Experience and familiarity with technology as a tool in teaching French
