Menlo School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school for students in grades six through twelve. Located in Atherton, California, and established in 1915, the School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the National and California Associations of Independent Schools.

The role:

We seek a full-time teacher for the 2022-2023 school year to join our Creative Arts Department and lead our choral program. The ideal candidate would possess a Bachelor’s degree, at least three years of teaching experience, have a solid background in music education, and would bring a range of interests and talents to our Arts program.  The choral teacher would ideally also be able to offer classes in music theory or appreciation, some other elective within our Arts program, or serve as vocal director for our musical theater productions. Full-time faculty members also oversee a ten-student advocacy group and participate actively in other aspects of Menlo’s student life program.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

  • The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment, but there may be possible exposure to childhood diseases and illnesses
  • Exposure to heated/air conditioned and ventilated facilities with average interior dust with occasional exposure to outdoor elements
  • Exposure to a normal school environment that is usually quiet but sometimes noisy
