Overview

Trinity School is an outstanding elementary day school serving preschool to Grade 5 students.  Our school, both literally and figuratively, is in a unique position for an independent school. Across the street from Stanford University on Sand Hill Road and adjacent to downtown Menlo Park and Silicon Valley, we occupy 5.5 acres on both campuses. Trinity School is seeking a talented and dynamic educator who will work closely with teachers, parents and administrators to support students in preschool through Grade 5, especially those with learning differences. The Learning Support Coordinator will collaborate with and assist teachers in implementing effective research-based strategies, observing and pushing into the classrooms to assist with differentiation and implementation of accommodations.  Ultimately, as the Learning Support Program develops and a Student Support Team is formed, the Learning Support Coordinator will be the lead liaison between the SST and the teachers and families.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:

  • Initiate and discuss student concerns with classroom teachers
  • Observe students in classrooms, assess output, and evaluate concerns
  • Problem solve and provide ideas for addressing areas of concern and provide guidance as needed
  • Collaborate with Campus Directors and faculty to create and implement clear protocols and school-approved accommodations to support students.
  • Align and monitor the effectiveness of interventions and alternative strategies to maximize learning for students
  • Coordinate, schedule and lead meetings with Campus Directors, teachers, administrators and families
  • Maintain and update an internal list of professionals who work effectively with Trinity and provide outside referrals  to families when needed
  • Serves as the liaison between Trinity and outside professionals
  • Read, interpret and summarize evaluation reports to assist in prioritizing support for families and to support implementation of classroom accommodations
  • Communicate student needs to other constituent groups including Teaching Assistants and administration
  • Maintain secure and up to date files documenting student support history, including necessary records for standardized test accommodations
  • Conduct baseline academic screenings and students observations when needed and to assist with admissions screenings including reviewing admission files
  • Provide professional growth presentations for faculty and staff along with parent education sessions regarding specific learning differences and a variety of learning needs
  • Support faculty transitions as well as conduct regular check-ins with faculty regarding students’ learning needs and provide new strategies as needed
  • Complete accommodation forms for standardized testing

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education, Educational Therapy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching at the elementary school level
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education
