Menlo School is seeking a full-time Educational Technology Lead to support our Middle and Upper School faculty and students in their use of technology for teaching and learning. Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of teaching experience, a love of working with teachers, students and staff, and demonstrated success teaching technology skills. The ideal candidate would possess a passion for all forms of tech and an enthusiasm for learning and teaching new technologies as they emerge. They must be a professional self-starter who keeps abreast of all facets of technology including, but not limited to, hardware, software, social media, and educational technology legislation. The Educational Technology Lead serves as a pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and families. They must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike through outstanding written and oral communication, as well as strong presentation skills. Experience with Canvas LMS, Veracross SIS, and audio/video systems is preferred. This is a 12 month position reporting to the Director of Technology and available as of June 1, 2022.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and propose emerging technologies for use in curriculum, assessment, and evaluation.
Support existing technologies including Canvas LMS, Veracross SIS, Google Workspace, Zoom, Edpuzzle, Flipgrid, Padlet, Nearpod, Explain Everything, and various other educational technology web platforms and apps, as well as ViewSonic Interactive Flat Panel displays used in classrooms.
Support hybrid learning as needed using Zoom, Logitech Meetup Conference Cameras, and mobile displays.
Collaborate and coordinate with existing Ed Tech and Tech Support teams around schoolwide technology initiatives.
Research and evaluate new hardware and software needs to enhance the curriculum and stay up-to-date on the latest trends in technology.
Lead the integration of new technology into the curriculum across various subjects, introducing new tools and processes to both increase student engagement and support effective teaching.
Assess skill levels of students, teachers, and staff, and design solutions that adequately address and elevate those skills.
Coordinate and facilitate professional growth opportunities for faculty to deepen their understanding of key technology ideas and enhance competence in incorporating technology appropriately into classroom instruction.
Lead end-user training for students, faculty, and staff.
Assist with running Zoom webinars put on by various departments and parents throughout the school year.
Troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware and software in collaboration with the Tech Support team or independently when needed.
Assist with technology needs at school events during the day or after hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or a technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience required.
Must have strong technical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Must be able to create and maintain instructional content using a variety of digital media platforms.
Must have solid understanding of curriculum development and implementation, as well as effective teaching strategies.
Considerable knowledge of current and emerging technologies as well as new practices around technology use required.
Wide-ranging experience with the use of Apple computers, iPads, interactive touch screen TVs, document cameras, as well as a wide variety of digital resources, tools, and instructional software required.
Must be proficient with using Google Workspace, MacOS, and iOS.
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar tools and share the information with a diverse group of people required.
Ability to instruct and work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, students, and parents required.
Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting audio/video equipment in classrooms and large meeting spaces preferred.
Must have a sense of humor, endless patience, be able to think analytically and emphatically, solve problems quickly and efficiently, have a flexible and creative mindset, and embrace lifelong learning.
