The Carey School seeks a dedicated, creative, and experienced educator for a preschool (3-year-olds) classroom Lead Co-Teacher position. Our play based, full-day preschool program is rooted in the Developmentally Appropriate Practice and philosophies of the Reggio Emilia approach, providing structured and open-ended play time for children to build SEL skills, develop relationships and “learn through doing”, using emergent themes. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of lead teaching classroom experience and ideally hold, or will be working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education with at least 12 ECE units. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated collaboration with colleagues including classroom and age-level partners and specialist teachers. In addition, he or she will have a proven record of instruction in both language arts and mathematics, utilizing the project approach to integrate content driven through play and teacher directed lessons, as well as experience with data driven documentation and assessment of student progress.
