The K-8 Project Based Learning & English Lead is a key member of the school’s Academic Leadership Team, provides instructional leadership to members of the school’s English teaching team, and works in close collaboration with the Chinese Curriculum Director, Division Heads, and other members of the school’s pedagogical team.

The ideal candidate is both a thought leader and exemplary practitioner of project-based learning, with a strong record of experience leading and mentoring teachers and teacher-leaders to create impactful inquiry- and project-based learning experiences for students. The ideal candidate will also have a thorough grounding and understanding of English language literacy development and strong familiarity with programs such as Fundations, Readers and Writers Workshop, and Fountas & Pinnell Reading Assessments.

The K-8 Project Based Learning & English Lead will conduct training for teachers, workshops for parents, and provide a visionary pathway for exemplary instruction in English Language Arts, and across the curriculum.

Candidates should understand neurodiversity and be committed to strengthening our students’ foundational skills as well as interest in and love of reading and writing. Our diverse school values children’s questions, and we are seeking someone with the experience, talent, and energy to help inspire and equip students with not only skills and fluency, but also a deep understanding of how these skills empower students as communicators and changemakers.

The position reports to the Head of School or designee and is an exempt position.
