High School Math Teacher
This is a .75 FTE exempt faculty position starting August 2022 (likely expanding to full time in future years)
Summary:
San Francisco Waldorf High School seeks an enthusiastic teacher for a position teaching High School Mathematics.
We are looking for an individual with a deep knowledge of and passion for mathematics to teach three year-long classes that could include Algebra, Geometry, Computer Science, Statistics or Calculus. The ideal candidate is comfortable teaching all grade levels (9 – 12).
A sense of humor, a belief in the capacities of all students, the ability to differentiate instruction according to student need and experience, and sound classroom management skills are essential for the job as is a desire to engage in the life of the Waldorf faculty and to work in a highly collaborative environment. New teachers at SFWHS are supported via participation in an observation and mentoring process.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree required
● Graduate degree highly recommended
● Active interest in exploring Waldorf education
● High school teaching and experience working with teens is a plus but not required
Benefits and Compensation:
This is a .75 FTE position on track to become a full-time position in future years. Benefits include medical, dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (employer contributions after one year of employment), and tuition remission (prorated by FTE) for eligible dependents. Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
● Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
● Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
● Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours
