Interim Role (32 hours/week for 4-6 months beginning August 15, 2022)

Responsibilities

Head-Royce School is seeking a part-time digital media specialist to join our Advancement team. This position works collaboratively with the Communications Director and Communications Manager to serve a large range of constituents (professional staff, teachers, parents, trustees and alumni, among others). This role serves as the primary webmaster of headroyce.org, ensuring content is up-to-date and that the School is effectively utilizing the suite of tools available. The Digital Media Specialist supports storytelling efforts by generating creative photography, video and social media content that authentically speaks to the School’s mission and values. In addition, this role involves management of HRS social media channels, including Instagram and Facebook, and liaising with our Technology Department as needed. The specialist will also be responsible for preparing a weekly newsletter for our professional community, among other communications as needed.

Skills

The Digital Media Specialist must have strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to interact cooperatively with other offices across campus––including three School divisions, athletics, admissions, advancement, business office, fine arts, and senior administration.

Candidates should have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, an eye for design, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.

In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

Familiarity with Content Management Systems or working with website publishing platforms; an interest in web design and best practices; experience with Finalsite not necessary but a plus
Experience filming and editing video content
Basic familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop

Qualifications

At least two years in a communications role, with specific experience managing social media platforms
BA/BS required––specialty in journalism, digital media or communications preferred
Comfortable working on the back end of a website (Finalsite not required, but experience with WordPress, Squarespace or other website building platform highly preferred)
Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to take initiative, prioritize, attention to detail, and good follow-through
Professionalism, diplomacy and discretion
Strong skills in a Mac environment and Google Docs applications
Experience with Blackbaud Learning Management System, Finalsite and/or other marketing automation platforms a plus
Demonstrated flexibility to respond to changing demands, priorities and ability to handle deadlines and pressure with calm and a commitment to high standards
Sensitivity to, and commitment to working with diverse racial, ethnic, gender, cultural, as well as disabled populations and promoting equity and inclusion for our constituents.
Ability to provide proof of Covid Vaccination (including booster) Livescan and TB clearance
