Long-Term Substitute (March-June and Aug-Nov. 2023)

The Chinese American International School has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, long-term substitute in seventh and eighth grade social studies at our new state of the art 888 Turk Street Middle School campus. Running from early March, 2023 through November, 2023 the substitute will carry out all of the responsibilities of a lead teacher. This is an ideal opportunity for a new teacher to gain experience, or for a more experienced teacher to return to the classroom.
This position will run from March 8 through November 17, 2023 (off for summer break from June 23 through August 14 and will teach two sections per day of approximately 20 students each, meeting daily with an advisory group, and performing various collateral duties such as lunch and morning supervision. Working with the English Language Program Director and the Head of the Middle School, the substitute will be responsible for providing instruction that follows the CAIS ESS curriculum, assessing student work, providing formative and summative feedback, and classroom management.

Bachelor’s degree
Teaching experience with demonstrated success
Commitment to meeting the needs of individual learners and promoting social and emotional development
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Commitment to school mission, policies, and initiatives
VALUED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Teaching credential, Master’s in Education (M.Ed.), or equivalent

Salary Range is $72,500- $120,500.
