K – 4th Learning Specialist
Starts August 7, 2023, M-F 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (100% FTE position)
Salary Range $60,500 – $136,900 depending upon experience + education
We seek a team member who will:
- provide services directly to students in the classrooms + in small pull-out groups
work alongside student support team + classroom teachers to serve students, teachers + families - collaborate with teachers to develop student learning plans, accommodations + differentiated instruction + curriculum
- screen children for learning + developmental differences +/or interpret outside assessments
- recommend outside testing, tutoring or other indicated special services + provide case management by partnering with teachers + families
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Training + experience as a Learning Specialist, Special Education Credential, +/or an MA in Special Education
- Three years minimum experience in elementary + special education teaching credential preferred
- Cultural competence in multicultural classrooms + sensitivity to the needs of children from diverse backgrounds
- Proven mastery of early literacy + numeracy instruction
- An ability to work collaboratively + effectively with teachers + parents
- Familiarity with educational resources in San Francisco
- Effective communication + facilitation skills

The K-4th Learning Specialist (K-4 LS) educates faculty, parenting adults + students about learning + teaching styles and strategies. K-4 LS services include support for reading, writing + mathematics instruction with a keen awareness of social-emotional, sensory + regulation strategies.
