The Associate Director of Admissions – Outreach and Engagement, oversees the outreach and engagement efforts and initiatives of the Admissions Office. As an integral member of the Admissions team, the Associate Director of Admissions – Outreach and Engagement will represent LWHS to a diverse community of prospective students and their families, support all admissions-related events, and fully participate in the consideration and selection of the class of incoming students each year.
This role requires the use of discretion and independent judgment. Additional duties and projects will be assigned as needed by the Director of Admissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Outreach
- Manage and coordinate the Parent/Guardian and Student Tiger Ambassador programs, including the orientation, training, and support of our network of actively-involved parent/guardian and student volunteers.
- Coordinate and serve on the planning committee for the SF
- Public/Parochial High School Fair hosted at LWHS
- Work closely with the Admissions Associates to plan, manage and execute all Admissions related outreach programs during the school year including calendar of high school fairs, partner organization events, and middle school visits.
- Cultivate relationships with middle school placement counselors and directors to support their work with 8th grade families during their high school search process
- Participate in the applicant interview process
- Read and evaluate applications and participate in the applicant deliberation process
- Articulate LWHS mission and educational philosophy persuasively and enthusiastically
- Delegate tasks and projects to the Admissions Associates as needed
Engagement
- Manage all systems and processes related to the visit experience of applicants during their on-campus or virtual shadow activities from September-December and the Revisit program in March:
- Scheduling and communication with prospective students and parents
- Scheduling and coordination with student hosts
- Coordinating information session duties within the office
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Admissions Operations and Flexible Tuition to oversee Lick-Wilmerding Admissions Interns (LWAI) program: application and interview process, managing intern responsibilities and assignments
- New Family Mentor Program Coordinator
- Oversee social media presence for the office: Instagram and Twitter
- Work closely with staff from The Center for Civic Engagement to run the Peer Connect Program
Events
- Oversee and execute events such as open houses, campus shadow visit program, applicant interviews, and admitted student-programming
- Serve as primary contact for coordinating facilities, rentals, entertainment, and all event details
- Solicit and helps to coordinate student and parent volunteers for all events
- Proactively handles arising issues and troubleshoots emerging problems on the day of the events
- Develops roadmap and feedback to improve future events
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend all Admissions events including, but not limited to: Open Houses (5), Interview Days (2), Placement Testing Day (1), Singleton/Doubleton Ice Cream Social (1)
- Support the schools enrollment goals by identifying students who are well-matched based on LWHS mission and educational philosophy
- Work closely with prospective students and their families via email, phone, and during school events
- Data entry and administrative tasks, as needed
- Creative projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others from all walks of life while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- A high degree of integrity and dedication to the LWHS mission
- Strong self-motivation
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Personal qualities of integrity, resilience, approachability, kindness, empathy, compassion and humor
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
- A bachelors degree and at least 4-6 years of related work experience preferred
- The candidate should possess a proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment
- Knowledge of admissions databases (inResonance, Ravenna), spreadsheets, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office is ideal
Salary Range:
In the spirit of pay transparency we share the base salary range for this position: $85,000 to $100,000 depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Base salary is exclusive of fringe benefits and retirement plan employer contributions. Pay ranges at LWHS are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at LWHS, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer.
