PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Athenian School seeks an Engagement Manager to play a key role within the Advancement Team to build relationships with alumni, parents/guardians, and the broader Athenian community in support of the school’s ambitious fundraising and strategic communications goals. The Engagement Manager will be the principal liaison for alumni and parent programming and volunteer leadership. This role will be a key collaborator with the Athenian Parent Association to plan events and invitations, to manage volunteers and on-campus partnerships, and to contribute to the school’s weekly e-newsletter to parents. They will create three to five high-impact alumni events, one to two regional events (which may require travel), and with the Athenian Parent Association hold ten or more events for parents annually. The Engagement Manager will collaboratively partner with the Communications team on event and alumni and parent/guardian-related communications. They will also evaluate current programs and activities and develop new programs as necessary.

We are looking for candidates that have experience with volunteer and event management. They will be committed to navigate today’s changing and diverse fundraising landscape. Such candidates will also be drawn to engage with all members of the advancement team and Athenian community to achieve fundraising goals and incorporate Athenian’s pillars: Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, Service.
BENEFITS, COMPENSATION, PROFESSIONAL GROWTH & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Athenian provides excellent benefits and salaries are competitive and commensurate with work experience and education. Community members enjoy meals on campus and use of athletics facilities, including a pool, gym and fitness center. The salary for this role will range from $85,000 – 100,000.
All employees participate in school wide professional development, and have the opportunity to pursue a range of additional professional growth opportunities. These include, but are not limited to, funded participation in professional conferences and continuing education opportunities. Athenian provides needed training for CPR/AED certification.
All employees are expected to attend all-school functions relevant to their role and to participate in supporting the student experience with other school duties as requested by their direct supervisor. Staff also have the opportunity to coach a sport for a supplemental stipend.
