LONG TERM SPANISH SUBSTITUTE TEACHER (maternity)
Mid March – mid June 2024, Full-time
Hourly rate – depending upon experience and education – is $29- $48
We seek a team member who is a(n):

- dynamic Spanish language and Latin cultural specialist
- inquiry-based classroom teacher
- innovator in a 1:1 iPad learning environment
- culturally competent, engaged community member
- excellent communicator and collaborator
- compassionate guide for the Preschool and Elementary years
- expertise in setting students up for success as Spanish speakers in High School and beyond
- stand-up comedian…or at least has a good sense of humor
The Work
- Teach Preschool and Lower School Spanish
- Foster a love and joy for the Spanish language and world language studies
- Collaborate with department colleagues to design and implement courses
- Implement World Readiness Standards by ACTFL for Language Learning
- Cultivate students’ sound skills (speaking, listening, pronunciation) and work habits
- Integrate technology into teaching and learning
- Design innovative, thematic-based learning opportunities to deepen understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures
- Employ strategies to address different learners
- Partner with parents and guardians
- Possibility to extend the work to the 24-25 school years as the Interim Spanish Teacher
