Preschool-5th Health & Wellness Teacher
Reports to: Stewart Dorsey, current Director of Enrollment Management & 2024-2025 Head of Lower School
Start: August 2024
Job Status: Part time (0.7 FTE)
Compensation: $42,000-84,000 commensurate with education and experience
Position Overview. The health and wellness teacher will teach physical education in coed instructional groups ranging from 10 to 22 students. This teacher will plan and conduct classes that include movement exploration, social emotional skills, cooperative sports and games, and traditional athletics. The ideal candidate will support students as they build a foundation of cooperation, taking turns, solving problems, and gross motor skills. They will also provide consistency and oversight to yard supervision during all recesses.

a compassionate listener who is skilled and experienced in guiding students as well as collaborating with adults
a culturally competent, engaged community member
an excellent communicator and collaborator
experience with youth group facilitation
organized and can manage equipment and inventory
The Work. The health & Wellness teacher will:
affirm program objectives and philosophy
plan and manage the classroom environment
plan and manage classroom programs and each child’s individual program
track and maintain records of individual development
communicate with teachers as needed
produce written assessments twice a year
communicate regularly with parents through meetings, conferences, and reports
coordinate with other health and wellness teachers to ensure program continuity
supervise yard recesses
