Job Description
The Associate Director of Communications plays a key role in advancing PKS’s mission, program, and strategic priorities. As a core member of the Advancement team, they will help to develop and execute an annual school-wide communications plan, and conceive, produce, curate, and deliver engaging content on a range of platforms and channels to tell the story of the school to internal stakeholders and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and manage a comprehensive communications plan and content calendar that integrates academic, admissions, fundraising, parent association, and alumni work streams; track deadlines and keep projects moving forward while remaining nimble to emerging issues and opportunities
· Oversee, update, and maintain the school’s social media accounts, website, and internal parent platform
· Create engaging, timely, and mission-aligned content (written and multimedia) that deepens understanding of our program; promotes community engagement and belonging; supports admissions, enrollment, and fundraising objectives; and expands the school’s external profile
· Oversee, update, and maintain the school’s social media accounts, website, and internal parent platform
· Oversee publication of the school’s weekly electronic newsletter and biannual alumni newsletter
· Participate in school events as an active member of the Advancement Team; visit classrooms and campus spaces to maintain a pulse on student life
· Collaborate with advancement colleagues as needed on other tactical/administrative aspects of team efforts
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a blend of content strategist and content creator, who can meet the communications needs of varied and diverse constituencies using a range of digital tools, platforms, and approaches. They are adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail, have an enthusiastic roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic, and will be able to effectively and eloquently articulate the PKS value proposition.
· Bachelor’s degree
· 3+ years of experience in marketing, public relations, fundraising, communications, or related field
· Strong design sense; photography, video production / editing, and infographic skills highly preferred
· Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail and follow through, and comfort working to a deadline
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently, collaboratively, or within multi-functional and diverse teams
· Resourceful, flexible, creative, technologically savvy
· Experience with Blackbaud, Squarespace, and Meta Business Suite preferred
· Knowledge of Chinese language and culture an asset, but not required

The salary range for the Associate Director of Communications position is $75,000 – $90,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
