Sacramento Country Day School offers an Aftercare Program for Pre-Kindergarten students to have the opportunity to engage themselves in activities beyond their regular academics. The PreK aftercare program allows students to explore different interests, interact with fellow students outside of the classroom and enhance social and educational skills. The aftercare counselor is responsible for leading students through a variety of activities to aid them in these processes. The pay range is $22 – $25 hourly depending on education and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Devise and implement structured activities while supervising aftercare students
- Ensure the safety of students by abiding by all licensing guidelines
- Respond to parent and children concerns in an effective, professional manner
- Communicate with families regarding sign up
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have 12 Early childhood education units at a community college or university.
- Must be available Monday-Friday, 2:30-6:00 pm
- Must have experience working with pre-kindergarten children
- A positive attitude towards students and parents
- Dedication to providing a fun, safe atmosphere for all involved with the aftercare Program
- An understanding of the importance of teamwork and a commitment to fellow counselors and Director
- An understanding of appropriate work behaviors
- An open-mind for new ideas, opportunities, and others’ input
- Ability to support the social-emotional growth of students and support problem-solving and conflict resolution
- A strong commitment to equity and inclusion
School requirements: Background check, First Aid/CPR trained (school sponsored), negative TB result within the past year.
