Math And Computer Science – Teacher / Part-Time / On-Site
RESPONSIBILITIES
Head-Royce School is seeking a culturally responsive, flexible, and enthusiastic educator to join our Math and Computer Science department, to teach two advanced-level Computer Science Classes: one section of Data Structures and one section of our Advanced Topics in Computer Science seminar. The two courses are for students who have taken several Computer Science courses already.
We seek teachers who are not only excited by the content they teach, but who are also actively engaged in evolving their classroom pedagogy to reflect the needs of 21st Century learners. We want teachers who are excited to join our community of learners and collaborate with us on meeting our Strategic Plan Goals and living our mission.
Head-Royce teachers also serve as advisors and club sponsors and participate in the life of the community. We seek applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in anti-bias pedagogy, an understanding of adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with students at this specific age level.
SKILLS
Expertise in teaching Computer Science.
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of culturally responsive teaching and learning.
Collaboration and flexibility.
Clear communicator with ability to liaise with students, colleagues, and parents.
Understanding of and curiosity regarding curriculum design, varied pedagogical approaches as well as different styles and types of assessment.
Strong organizational skills.Demonstrated knowledge and practice of culturally responsive teaching and learning.
Knowledge of appropriate use of technology to enhance learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree; ideal candidates will have an academic background in Computer Science.
2-5 years minimum teaching experience.
Understanding and support of Head-Royce’s core values with strong emphasis on equity and social justice.
Ability to provide proof of Covid Vaccination as well as TB clearance
Additional Qualifications (preferred, not required)
Experience working in the field of Computer Science and or Technology
Advanced Degrees in Computer Science or Education
$75,000 – $125,000 a year
Salary will be prorated based on percentage of Full-Time Equivalency.
*Dependent on Years of Experience Teaching and Education Level
