Job DescriptionBishop O’Dowd High School is seeking a candidate for an Instructional Technologist.
Under the direction of the Director of Technology and the Associate Principal of Academics, the Instructional Technologist provides technical support and educational technology consultation to staff, students, and parents. This role partners with faculty and support staff to design, coordinate, and deliver educational experiences to improve learning outcomes and the learner experience. This individual will also implement, maintain, and provide ongoing support for various edtech systems and tools. Projects focus on improving and enhancing the delivery of instructional experiences to students, and to research, compare, and recommend appropriate technologies to solve emerging instructional challenges.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide software and cloud-based system technical support and training for O’Dowd staff, students, and parents
Produce and update instructional materials (manuals, graphics, videos, GIFs, articles, websites)
Evaluate, digitize, and streamline current and future course/program development through Schoology, PowerSchool, Google Admin, and other relevant platforms
Oversee and coordinate technology onboarding process for new, international, transfer students, and staff (ex: Tech Check program, orientation)
Manage the technical side of new and existing course creation, maintenance, imports, exports, feature requests, error reporting, parent account setup
Assist the Director of Technology in gathering feedback, designing more efficient workflows, and implementing changes with stakeholders
Collaborate with various departments to meet technology-related needs (i.e website-building, media/video production, digitizing programs, turning ideas into action using technology, etc)
Conduct workshops and individual training sessions on effective Smart Board technology, including set up, operation, and integration into a classroom setting

Qualifications
Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field
Technology support experience
Project management experience
Experience in K-12 education environment
Experience in SIS and LMS administration (PowerSchool, Schoology, Google Admin for Edu)
Competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities)
Working knowledge of various technologies used in instructional technology (Camtasia, Adobe products, ZenDesk, Canva, Microsoft, Google Apps, Zoom, WordPress, etc)
Proficient with Smart Board technology
Customer service and solutions-oriented attitude and approach
Ability to work independently on projects and also participate successfully in a team
Ability to follow through with end-users and vendors in resolving technical issues
Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
Working knowledge of HTML, SQL, and relational databases
Experience designing, developing, and implementing programs of instruction including in-person, hybrid, and online-based training
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills; high level of attention to detail
