Middle School Associate Teacher

Position Overview
The Associate Teacher works in collaboration with the classroom teacher and provides both direct and indirect services to the students in the classroom.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where children can develop their full potential and experience growth
Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the school day
Create and or produce classroom materials to support curriculum needs (coloring, laminating, copying, ordering, etc.)
Assist teaching team with documenting individual student progress by giving feedback (written, verbal) to team members (correct papers/quizzes/tests)
Provide support to middle school writing, science, and/or history classes to help with classroom management during lessons, as needed
Help develop and implement classroom positive behavior protocol and/or academic plans for classroom and/or individual students. Assist with classroom management techniques and strategies
Check in with students in the beginning and the end of the day to help them with organization
Communicate and meet with classroom teachers on a regular basis
Communicate and meet with the Division Directors on a regular basis
Actively participate in class activities, circle time and field trips
Provide supervision to students during breaks, recess and lunch
Administer academic screenings/assessments as needed
Attend Grade Level Meetings (GLM’s) as needed
Participation on grade level Outdoor Education trips
Education, Certifications, and Work Related Experience:
Bachelor degree required
Two years experience at the elementary and middle school level working with children with language based learning differences preferred
Knowledge of multi-sensory teaching techniques preferred
Additional Skills:

Charles Armstrong School offers
Competitive pay rate commensurate with experience ranging from $55,000-$70,000 annually
