The Position: Innovation and Computer Science Teacher
Design and teach Middle School Computer Science classes
Provide technology and innovation curriculum integration support JK-8
Possess a passion for Computer Science with the ability to spark student motivation and love of learning
Work with Lower School (JK-5) students and faculty to integrate technology and computer science.
Serve as an advisor to a group of middle school students
Lead an after-school robotics club at both divisions
Design and support Middle School Engineering Challenges
Work cooperatively and collegially with the school’s administration, the faculty and staff, and the parents to create and maintain an exemplary school environment
Engage in professional development and teacher growth opportunities.
Cultivate collaboration, transparency, inclusion, curiosity, fun, innovation, and excellence in a dynamic learning community
Conduct dynamic and flexible instruction to address a variety of learning styles and interests
Evaluate and give feedback on student progress regularly using standards-based assessment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred
Knowledge of and Experience teaching Computer Science at the middle or secondary school level
Familiarity with teaching in independent schools preferred
