Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in Pre-K-12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a Lower School Physical Education Teacher for Kindergarten through second grade. This is a full-time position with benefits (100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employee only), beginning August 16, 2025. The salary range is $52,000 – $95,000 depending on education and years of experience.
We are looking for an educator who is:
- An expert at building a classroom community
- Skilled in developing and teaching the K-2 PE curriculum of movement education
- A great collaborator who works with teachers to integrate their subjects into PE
- Engages with parents as partners in their children’s growth and development
- Can meet the needs of a wide range of learners
- Responsive Classroom training is a plus
- Has experience with Elementary Movement Education including but not limited to George Graham, Holt, Hale, Parker, Robert Pangrazi
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Physical Education
- Two years or more of PE teaching experience at the Lower School level
- Single subject teaching credential preferred (CCTC approved program)
- Curriculum development experience
- Openness and flexibility in designing improved learning experiences
- Values collegial collaboration and individual improvement

Country Day enrolls over 580 students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The Lower School serves roughly 260 students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade.
