Head-Royce School 19th Nia Speaker of Color Series: A Conversation with Kendra Andrews ’15

This year we are thrilled to welcome Oakland native, ESPN journalist, and alumna Kendra Andrews ’15. Kendra covers the Golden State Warriors basketball team year-round and is a regular presenter on ESPN’s NBA Today and SportsCenter.

She will share how her love of journalism began and was developed at Head-Royce, how she landed her dream career, and how she overcame early challenges with learning differences and dyslexia during her K-12 journey. She will also speak about being a Black woman working in sports journalism for one of the largest television and streaming networks in the business, and how she experienced success so early on in a crowded, male-dominated field.
