Join us for the 2nd Northern California People of Color in Independent Schools (PoCIS) Regional Conference, a transformative day of learning, connection, and community building.
This year’s theme, “Roots to Resilience,” celebrates the deep roots of communities of color in the Bay Area and Northern California and honors the resilience we continue to demonstrate today. Through this theme, we will explore the strength of our shared histories and the innovative ways we persevere and thrive in our schools and communities.
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Liza Talusan (tah-LOOS-ahn), a nationally recognized educator, facilitator, and scholar specializing in leadership, equity, and justice. A faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Boston, Dr. Talusan is the award-winning author of The Identity-Conscious Educator and the recently released Identity-Conscious Practice in Action. Her work inspires educators to reflect deeply and take meaningful action toward creating inclusive communities.
