Join colleagues for a midday at the shores of Lake Merritt featuring a visit to BIPOC co-owned Bay Grape wine shop with a selection poured for us by Fern A. Stroud, founder of Black Vines. Come early and/or stay after our tasting to sample, eat, and buy from the many local BIPOC food, goods, and art vendors at the Grand Lake Farmers’ Market and Lake Merritt pergola area. Visit BIPOC, queer-owned bottle shop Alkali Rye for a spirit sampling with a subgroup.
TENTATIVE AGENDA:
11:00 AM: Attendees are encouraged to arrive and explore the many BIPOC vendors at Grand Lake Farmers Market and the Lake Merritt Pergola.
11:45 AM: Meet at the Lake Merritt Pergola, brief introductions, walk to Bay Grape (5 min).
12:00 PM: Enjoy the experience at Bay Grape.
1:30 PM: Return to the Pergola area for wrap-up, get something to eat from vendors, and enjoy each other’s company in an informal setting at the lakeshore. A subgroup who is interested will visit BIPOC and queer-owned bottle shop, Alkali Rye for their weekly spirit tasting and to explore their beautiful store.
