The school is organized into four academic divisions, each led by a Division Head, sharing resources and a central administration, all of which is under the direction of the President.

Convent & Stuart Hall High Schools are divisions within Schools of the Sacred Heart, San Francisco, serving girls and boys in grades 9-12. We are seeking excellent candidates for the role of high school College Counselor to assist students and families in student college choices and goals.  The Counselor holds individual meetings with each junior and family in the spring semester, and each senior and family in the fall semester, to discuss college list, testing, essays, and  the application progress. The position reports to the Director of Academic Guidance and ensures each student plans their curriculum for the college admissions process. In addition, the counselor teaches a comprehensive college counseling class once a week to juniors (spring semester) and seniors (fall semester) to cover all aspects of the admissions process. Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who are confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic, engaging and challenging curriculum to high school students. In addition to their counseling responsibilities, all faculty are expected to contribute to the life of the school community in general. In addition to providing academic and college guidance as a member of the school’s College Counseling team, they also may be requested to fulfill a teaching assignment in the field of their academic degree/s.

Qualifications
To be considered candidates should submit a resume and cover letter displaying their qualifications in the following areas:

Requires an undergraduate degree and a Masters degree is strongly preferred.  Prefer 3-5 years of relevant college counseling experience, familiarity with AP and IB curriculum is strongly preferred.  Qualified candidates will possess a proven track record developing positive relationships with college admissions representatives  and will possess strong working knowledge of UC and Cal State eligibility requirements. Independent and collaborative leadership is required as well as effective communication skills.   Candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills.  History of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators.  Ability to differentiate program delivery to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles.  Innovative, creative, and flexible working style. Requires demonstrated and direct experience using a wide range of technology tools including iPads, laptops, and Google Apps.  Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative.  Must have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work well with students and adults.   Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism.  Experience with independent schools is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements include:

Regularly lifting or carrying 1-20 lbs.  Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling.  Regularly climbing stairs**  Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours.  Requires physical presence, work to be performed on campus**
