JOB SUMMARY
Crystal seeks a temporary, (one semester leave replacement) part-time exempt (0.5 FTE), Upper School Drama Teacher for our (Fall Semester) starting August 2024. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience, a general knowledge of curriculum instruction practices, some high school classroom teaching experience and the ability to instruct students and apply effective classroom management.The purpose of the Drama Teacher in Upper School is to help students develop a passion for performing through creating, exploring, and improvisation.
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual development through general education. Enable students to maximize their competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Help build equity and inclusion, and a sense of belonging. Lay the foundation for positive self-assessment and emotional intelligence amongst students. Teach them a sense of responsibility as well as their academic curriculum.

Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree
At least three years of classroom teaching experience
General knowledge of curriculum instruction practices
Some high school classroom teaching experience
Ability to instruct students and apply effective classroom management
Experience working in a Independent School environment
Travel Required
Light travel between the Middle School and Upper School campuses, as needed
Physical demands and work environment
Able to lift up to 20 pounds
Able to climb stairs
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods
Able to work in a dynamic environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts

Salary and Benefits
This is a temporary, (one semester leave replacement) part-time exempt (0.5 FTE), Upper School Drama Teacher faculty position for our (Fall Semester) and the annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $70,000 – $150,000.
The recruitment period will remain open until sufficient resumes have been received and may close at any time a sufficient pool of highly qualified candidates has been established. First consideration will be given to individuals that apply between March 13, 2024 through March 27, 2024. Second consideration will be given to individuals that apply between March 28, 2024 through April 11, 2024. The ideal start date for this position is August 1, 2024.
