Position Overview

Job Title: Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator supports the Communications Department, primarily with writing, photography, videography, social media, design, and updating the website. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Communications. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a fast-paced/independent high school setting, interact with a broad set of constituents, and be a part of a high-impact collaborative team.

 

Skills, Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • A strategic, mission-driven individual with a strong understanding of branding, communication, and public relations.
  • A dynamic storyteller and strong writer with the ability to fully embody and sustain a credible brand voice through outstanding communication and copy editing skills.
  • Take photos and videos of daily classroom activities, and events, as well as some special events on evenings and weekends
  • Update content on Drew website
  • Create DrewNet pushpages, weekly parent newsletter (Drew Weekly), alumni newsletter
  • Manage social media for the School; create a social media calendar and post all content on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Coordinate with Athletics and all other Drew sponsored social media accounts
  • Manage all digital photographs and videos: download, name, categorize and file all in the Communications shared drive
  • Assist the HOS office with presentations and speeches
  • Liaise with outside photographers and videographers as well as any other outside vendors
  • For the Communications, Admissions, Advancement Departments, the P/GA, and others produce posters, invitations, and assist in other design and communication needs
  • Assist in design and creating content of the Yearbook
  • Manage Drew stationery supplies, including tracking overall use and maintaining back ups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that can engage various stakeholders in the school community.
  • A consummate team player who can move fluidly from the strategic to the executional and back.
  • Ability to multitask, manage and prioritize competing demands
  • Digitally savvy with a strong design aesthetic and a working knowledge of Canva, Illustrator, Blackbaud, FinalSite, social media platforms.
  • Experience in independent schools is a plus.
  • Experience in a public relations/communications agency is a plus.
