Position Description

Burke’s is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed technical support professional with strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, technical, organizational, and leadership skills to join the Library & Makery Team and assist and support teachers, students, families, staff, and administrators in our predominantly Mac and iOS environment. This is a full-time role that reports to the Director of Curriculum and Program Innovation.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Director of Curriculum and Program Innovation and other members of the Tech Team to implement the school’s device, software, and data plans
  • Work with the external technology solutions partner on various IT/IS initiatives, sometimes guiding the contractor’s work and sometimes supporting it
  • Manage other vendor relationships and technology deployments, such as copiers, printers, and audio/visual equipment
  • Provide technology support to students, families, teachers, and staff (including both on-campus and virtual support)
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to employees related to campus technology infrastructure
  • Manage logistics and reporting of technology-related projects
  • Manage and administer enterprise level SIS and other database projects

Professional Skills & Experience

  • Required
    • Experience supporting IT operations, including hardware deployment, imaging, backup, recovery, device management, network, and security
    • Experience administering and supporting critical operational workflows for different enterprise applications, including the following systems: student information, email, phone, and device management
    • Confidence with Apple system and device support – including iPads, macOS and hardware, Apple TVs
    • Experience developing user-friendly training/support materials for a variety of audiences and providing technology support  (e.g., screencasts, written tutorials, FAQ, etc.)
  • Preferred
    • Expertise with database systems and Filemaker Pro experience
    • Experience with technology deployment and support in a school setting
    • History of coaching and/or leading technology training for a variety of audiences
    • Experience with educational software such as Blackbaud SIS, Google Apps (G Suite)

Compensation
