Interim Middle School Math Teacher
Keys School, a K-8 of approximately 320 students and 45 faculty, seeks an experienced Middle School math teacher to work full-time, beginning in November/December 2024. Founded fifty years ago, Keys offers a constructivist education with concern for students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. Today Keys is known for helping students to become compassionate and empathic community members while developing the confidence to find their voice and advocate for themselves.
The school is situated on two campuses, about one mile apart. The Lower School campus houses grades K-4, which includes approximately 180 students and 40 faculty and staff. The Middle School campus houses grades 5-8, including approximately 140 students, and 30 faculty and staff.
The Interim Middle School Math Teacher will teach four sections of math, two with Grade 7 and two with Grade 8, attend weekly faculty meetings, and perform duties such as recess supervision and field trip chaperone responsibilities, as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of children’s academic, social, and emotional development; familiarity with Singapore math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry content through high school levels; use of current technology for record keeping and communication purposes; and be of sufficiently nimble mind and spirit to enjoy the challenges posed by early adolescents.
The successful candidate will plan, execute, assess and adjust lessons that introduce students to mathematical concepts at introductory through advanced levels, maintain a respectful classroom environment, and keep records of student progress and performance through the Keys School mathematics curriculum. This candidate will also show strong verbal and written communication skills, and have a healthy sense of humor. A bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science or equivalent field is required. Prior teaching experience or a Master’s degree is preferred, but not required.

Salary: $85,000+ depending upon year of teaching experience
