Position Summary:

The Admissions Assistant is responsible for providing logistical and operational support to the Admissions Office. As an integral member of the Admissions team, the Admissions Assistant will communicate to a diverse community of prospective students and their families, and support all admissions-related events. The Admissions Assistant ensures a positive, supportive and warm environment within the office. Some evening and weekend hours for events are required.  This position is a full-time/non-exempt role, reporting to the Director of Admissions.  Employed on an academic year calendar of approximately August 1 to June 15th (with opportunity to provide support to other areas of school during summer months if interested).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Correspond daily with interested parties and prospective applicant families in a timely, confidential, and professional manner.
  • Work with families to submit Flexible Tuition paperwork.
  • Maintain discretion with all admissions, enrollment, and institutional data.
  • Schedule and confirm admissions activities (open houses, shadow visits, interviews, etc.).
  • Attend Admissions’ events including, but not limited to: Open Houses (5), Interview Days, Placement Testing Day, New Student Welcome Event
  • Support Associate Director of Admissions with shadow visit program for prospective students.
  • Generate and maintain admissions materials associated with admissions events, meetings, and all general office correspondence to prospective families.
  • Maintain the admissions database and manage applicant files throughout the admissions process – inquiry through acceptance and enrollment.
  • Assist with coordination and implementation of admissions events and programs.
  • Serve as the point of contact when guests are on campus.
  • Assist with school tours as needed.
  • Manage historical student data.
  • Additional duties and projects necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the Admissions Office.
  • Promote the School’s mission and embody the core values of the School.
  • Assist with updating the internal and external website pages for prospective and new families.
  • Other special duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • School admissions or administrative support experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, quick-learner, with a proactive approach to work.
  • Flexibility, good humor, and a team spirit.
  • Ability to connect with, and build rapport, with a warm and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to details.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in person, via email and phone.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to cultivate new and maintain strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Demonstrates excellent skills in cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Flexibility and creativity in working in a dynamic environment where new ideas, mistakes and iterations are embraced.
  • Discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential admissions issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and video conferencing (i.e. Zoom).
  • Working knowledge of Blackbaud and/or Ravenna Solutions a plus  – and a desire to continue strengthening these skills.
  • Bilingual abilities– Spanish/English or Mandarin/English a plus.

Salary Information
In the spirit of pay transparency we share the hourly wage range for this position as $28.00 to $32.00/hour. The starting hourly rate is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of creditable experience, education level, and expertise. Pay ranges at LWHS are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at LWHS, your final hourly wage will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer.
