Live Oak School (private, K-8) has an opening for a talented, flexible, and high-energy private music teacher starting in January for in-person instruction. The position is structured as a part-time position depending on the candidate’s availability. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, and all candidates should have experience teaching music, and rhythm to early elementary students, as well as planning and directing performances. Some experience teaching students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 would be a huge plus, as would familiarity with common ed tech programs and tools.
Core responsibilities include working with our Director of Extended Day Programs to design and deliver an engaging after school music program. The schedule varies but typically includes four classes a day three times each week depending on the term. Additionally, our private music instructor typically supports in coordinating the spring showcase of performances and supports and works cooperatively with our team of private music instructors.
Finally, candidates should be highly responsible and friendly people who work well with others and can communicate clearly and appropriately with colleagues and school parents.
