Marin Horizon School (Mill Valley, CA) is a progressive, Toddler – 8th grade school of about 300 students. The inquiry-based curriculum focuses heavily on hands-on, collaborative learning in order to develop students’ academic and social-emotional skills. The school views character education and self-advocacy as integral to growth in and out of the classroom and acknowledges diversity, equity, and inclusion as necessary elements of a strong community.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Marin Horizon School is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Technology Associate to assist in the maintenance and implementation of the school’s technology program. This position is primarily responsible for handling the help desk requests for faculty and staff and working collaboratively with the school’s managed services provider, Knowing Technologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with the IT Manager and Knowing Technologies to perform on-call user support in response to help desk ticket requests, following through until the ticket request is closed, and escalating requests as needed
- Document issue status and resolution using the help desk ticketing system
- Manage inventory of all school-related technology
- Troubleshoot IT needs for students, faculty, staff, and families
- Support administration of the mobile device management system
- Maintain and support all audio/visual equipment on campus
- Provide AV support for a limited number of evening events
- Support hardware equipment that includes, but is not limited to, the following: laptops, iPads, printers, phones, and laptop storage carts
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Mac OS and Windows desktop and notebook computers, as well as iOS devices
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in or understanding of an academic environment
- Technical aptitude or interest in supporting technology

- Works cooperatively and effectively with all school personnel
- Ability to learn new software and hardware in a timely fashion and troubleshoot when necessary
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written documents pertinent to technology

- Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (occasionally)
- Ability to climb a ladder (occasionally)
- Work at desk and computer screen for extended periods of time
