Director of Extended Day & Summer Programs
Beginning Spring 2022
Mark Day School seeks an innovative, experienced teacher/administrator to direct the Extended School Day Enrichment & Summer Programs, beginning Spring 2022. The director will lead all the extended school day enrichment program and summer program elements, including staff hiring and evaluation, professional development, programmatic advancement, enrollment, and marketing. Reporting to the Head of the Lower School, this position is full-time, with benefits. Salary is dependent upon experience and education.
The extended day program, known as the After School Club (ASC), serves students in grades K-8. The program runs from 7:30-8:20 am and 2:30-6:00 daily. While at the ASC, students are engaged in various activities that include free play, homework, snack, and arts and crafts. Students also can sign up for Adventures After School (AAS) classes at an additional cost. These classes cover a range of academic, art, and athletic offerings in two rotations throughout the year. Summer programs are varied and have included programs in theater, art, language, sports, and our Early Learners program for incoming Kindergartners. The summer session historically runs from the middle of June through July.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the extended day programs and summer programs
Coordinate with the Admin Team to develop the extended day programs and summer programs calendars
Coordinate marketing, sign-ups, and payment for the extended day programs and summer programs
Manage the budget for the extended day programs and summer programs
Communicate with parents regarding programs, schedules, fees, and changes
Hire, train, and evaluate staff
Coordinate Adventures After School programs
Coordinate extended day opportunities for faculty/staff children on professional development and teacher workdays
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience working with kids
Experience managing employees in a school, daycare, or camp environment
Experience working with technology – Primarily Google Workplace
