Sacramento Country Day School
Pre-kindergarten Director/Lead Teacher
Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in PK-12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a Prekindergarten Program Director/Lead Teacher to add to our excellent faculty for the 2018-2019 school year.
Often described by our families as magical, our prekindergarten program nurtures the intellectual, physical, and social and emotional growth of our students in a play-based, Reggio Emilia-inspired classroom of up to 24 students. Nestled in a grove of trees, our protected playground and spacious classroom provide deep and rich daily experiences.
This opening provides a unique opportunity to follow in the footsteps of two veteran faculty members who are retiring together and will allow the next director to envision a new path for our PK. We are looking for someone who possesses great knowledge about how to inspire joyful learning for four and five year olds, is able to communicate effectively and warmly with families, will enjoy collaborating with our distinguished faculty, and who has a vision for the direction of our PK program. This person will be the lead teacher and direct the work of two other teachers.
The ideal candidate will have at minimum:
- a BA in child development, early childhood education, or related field
- be qualified to serve as the program director under state licensing requirements (site supervisor certificate or similar); and have lead teacher or supervisory experience.
