Job Summary:
San Francisco Friends School, seeks an inspiring Spanish teacher to begin the 2021-22 school year with us. We seek a professional educator who develops students to be competent language and culture learners, and introduces them to the beauty of language learning. Responsibilities include close teamwork for curriculum development, committee involvement, and student assessment. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons for all sections in each grade K-4th. Supporting the growth and innovation of the program, including supporting the differentiation of instruction in language learning for both bilingual students and emerging Spanish students, will be central to the role.
Job Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate:
Fluency in Spanish language
Strong Spanish language instruction background
Bachelor’s degree
Passion for teaching and celebrating Spanish language and Hispanic culture
Commitment to collaboration and team building
Preferred Qualities:
Three or more years experience teaching lower school Spanish
Education degree (Masters and/or Teaching Credential)
Knowledge of current pedagogy and facility with hands-on and project-based instruction
Openness to Quaker philosophy
Collaborative and creative team player
