St. Paul’s Episcopal School, located across from Lake Merritt in Oakland, enrolls approximately 370 students from diverse backgrounds in Kindergarten – Grade 8. St. Paul’s provides an education that is intellectually challenging, culturally pluralistic, and morally and spiritually enriching. Caring, committed faculty members, in partnership with parents, serve as role models, mentors and guides. Job Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Middle School Athletic program
Stay up-to-date with the rules and regulations of all sports offered at SPES
Develop a vision for the Athletic Program
Hire coaches for various teams each season
Process all coaches through HR
Train and mentor coaches for best practices in coaching and athlete conduct that reflect the mission and values of the school
Serve as an Advocate for student-athletes
Maintain, update, and keep an inventory of athletic equipment and uniforms
Manage the middle school athletic budget
Develop protocols for the use of the gym and fields
Develop expectations for Student Athletes
Athletics Communication
Maintain Finalsite Athletic Module on the school website

Team tryout information
Team Schedules(practice and games)
Directions to games and practices
Team Rosters
Contact information for coaches
Input all athletic-related dates into the school calendar
Prepare announcements at the start of each season to be shared in the Headlines
Successfully communicate with coaches, students, staff, teachers and parents
