The Opportunity
As Director of Advancement reporting directly to the Head of School, you will have the opportunity to advance our school’s unique educational mission through all aspects of fundraising, Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Special Events, and Grants – and to harness the energy of a vibrant Academy community – parents and alumni, trustees, and staff.
About You
You have a track record of meeting or exceeding financial goals in the advancement or fundraising roles you’ve held.
You have a framework for creating an advancement plan, building buy-in around it, executing against it in a disciplined way, measuring progress, and making changes when it’s not producing the desired results.
You are familiar with the standard elements in an advancement plan and the right context and trade-offs for each – annual giving, major giving, planned giving, events planning, capital campaigns, marketing, and communications, and grant procurement.
You are comfortable presenting to and building trusted relationships with varied audiences–foundations, corporate donors, high net-worth individuals, trustees, parent associations, and alumni.
You embrace both the calling and the heavy lifting in a small school environment: researching donors, maintaining the development database, writing grants, responding to donor requests, serving as admin lead for an event, and so on.
