JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Substitute Teachers
REPORTS TO: Dean of Faculty
EMPLOYEE STATUS: Temporary, Exempt, Part-Time
Located in the Presidio of San Francisco, The Bay School is an independent, college-preparatory high school committed to equity and belonging within Bay and beyond. Position Summary
We are seeking substitute teachers for the 2023-2024 academic year. Substitute teachers are responsible for the safety and well-being of the students in the classroom, for upholding the school’s rules and culture, and for administering the instructor’s lesson plan. Remuneration is $50-$65 per class. Typically a substitute will sub 3-4 classes a day. Substitute teachers are usually contacted by the school at least 24 hours in advance of the day for which they are needed.
The Ideal Candidate
- Possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree;
- Has experience in a school or other educational institution as a teacher, teacher’s aide or support staff;
- Finds resonance with The Bay School’s educational approach and philosophy;
- Brings a diversity of teaching and life experience to our community.
Requirements
Job offers are contingent upon clear LiveScan fingerprinting and TB risk assessment. Other requirements include completing first aid/CPR training, mandated reporter training, anti-harassment training, and bloodborne pathogen training. Access to these mandatory trainings are provided and paid for by the school. Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
