Job Summary

The Director of Transportation, Parking and Security oversees and ensures the Branson School’s safe and efficient day-to-day parking and transportation operations. Plans, organizes, and supervises work flow to maintain consistent levels of service to internal and external clients. Collaborates with colleagues across campus and external constituents in the recommendation, administration and development of operational policies, procedures, processes, and communications. Keeps accurate records and inventories related to planning, accountability, transit and bus operations, ridership, and customer service within the Branson school community and neighborhood. Serves as the school’s primary liaison to the Ross Police Department. Manages and implements visitor check-in processes and policies.  Is in charge of fleet management and works in collaboration with director of facilities

Functions & Responsibilities

Manages the parking management database (Rydin Permit Express), stickers, tickets, parking assignments, etc., in collaboration with the IT director.
Works closely with the business office on pricing and billing matters.
Works closely with other colleagues on student parking and traffic needs.
Coordinates traffic management on campus and during events
Oversees campus check-in office and management of visitor policies, the visitor registration system and related duties
Monitors campus daily by walking grounds
Coordinates physical security of buildings and equipment, including implementing a security RFP process for optimal, technology based security
Liaises with local police office and other law enforcement agencies, as necessary
Develops policies, signs and procedures associated with above job duties
Coordinates as needed with campus safety director
Controls flow or ingress and egress on campus
Serves as a standing member of the Safety Committee
Assigns parking spots and manages off site locations and contracts
With the help of the Assistant Head of School, contacts parents as needed with regard to parking permits, permissions, etc.
Updates parking map as needed.
Manages the sign up and carpool process for students who drive to campus.
Orders parking permit stickers, and oversees their distribution (with the school’s Programming and Operations Coordinator).
With the help of the Assistant Head of School, updates the traffic and parking handbook yearly.
Works with Facilities team to help manage events on campus with regard to traffic and parking.
Manages and hands out parking citations as needed when students or others are parked illegally, and spot checks periodically to ensure that people are parking in their assigned spaces.
Coordinates transportation vendors and other school partners to organize/manage the East Bay and San Francisco vans and buses.
Helps manage the transportation program in alignment with the CUP, TDMP and Town of Ross requirements.
Manages athletics transportation needs in collaboration with athletics department (i.e., director and coaches).
Develops an electric vehicle strategy for the campus community.
Manage scheduling and accountability for crossing guards and traffic monitors.
Evening, weekend and early morning work is required for special events related to community and school functions (which can vary greatly during the school year).
Will collaborate with the IT team to manage security cameras and checking license plates (via the DMV website)
Ensures all school drivers (of vans and personal vehicles) have been approved by our insurance broker
Coordinate with vendors for on-campus bike maintenance days
