Associate Director of Admissions- Upper School

The Role & Opportunities:
The Associate Director of Admissions – Upper School is one of the key ambassadors for Nueva and provides leadership on issues related to student recruitment and admissions primarily for grades 9-12. They will support the admissions process and procedures for all candidates, PreK-12. The Associate Director of Admissions reports to the Director of Admissions and works closely with the upper school leadership and admission teams. Evening and weekend work is required.

The Associate Director of Admissions will have opportunities to refine an admissions process for a growing applicant pool, partner with talented faculty and students to attract and yield mission-matched families, and launch key initiatives to support recruitment and outreach goals.

Key responsibilities include data and file management, applicant assessment, admissions performance tracking and funnel reporting, volunteer training and management, and timely and effective communication with various constituents. The role requires the ability to both work independently and collaboratively on various admissions and larger community tasks and projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
·       Support the admissions process and procedures.
·       Represent Nueva and provide appropriate, accurate, and timely information to applicant families, community-based organizations, and educators.
·       Provide accurate and timely information to the staff and faculty.
·       Support appointment scheduling for student and parent visits/interviews.
·       Accompany and/or lead parent tours.
·       Conduct parent and student interviews.
·       Revise and update admissions documents and reports as needed.
·       Participate in and lead applicant observations and visits.
·       Participate in and lead admissions committees.
·       Prepare applicants’ folders for admission committee members.
·       Present the school to prospective families through virtual and in-person admissions events and workshops (including tours, program previews/open houses, diversity events, and other programs for applicants and applicant families).
·       Maintain accurate database of applicant information.
·       Update and input admissions information, data, and statistics.
·       Oversee international student applications.
·       Support larger diversity goals for the school.
·       Support THRIVE program goals for enrollment and retention of underrepresented students and families.
·       Maintain accurate and complete current and inactive student files.
·       Assist with the Admissions volunteer program and training (Nueva Parent’s Association, Students, US Mavericks Program, Faculty, and Staff).
·       Assist in coordination and implementation of outreach strategies and events.
·       Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Three or more years of high school admissions experience.
Excellent organizational skills and strong, careful attention to details.
Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple responsibilities simultaneously in fast-paced environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional people skills and phone etiquette.
Ability to work independently, collegially, and collaboratively. Positive team member.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Working knowledge of Ravenna Solutions a plus.
Bilingual abilities– Spanish/English or Mandarin/English a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred

Terms & Compensation:
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Compensation commensurate with experience.
