EXPERIENCE

Highland Hall Waldorf School Lead Teacher, Northridge, CA from 2013-20 where responsibilities included:

❖  Teaching a class of students from grades one through six in an independent school.
❖  Curriculum design based on Waldorf – Rudolf Steiner teaching philosophy for grades one (1) through eight (8) in the subject areas of:

●  Mathematics – number sense, four basic operations, fractions, decimals, fractions, percentages, pre-algebra, geometry, and business math;
●  Language Arts – reading, writing, spelling, grammar, cursive;
●  Social Science and History – American History, Ancient Africa and other Civilizations
●  Earth and Life Science – World Geography, Astronomy, Nature studies, and Physics;
●  Music and Art – recorder and flute, singing, drawing, painting and theater;
●  Movement – facilitating healthy development of physical rhythm, balance, and coordination using beanbags, balls, rhythm sticks, jumping ropes, and other equipment;

❖  Wording collaboratively with leadership to facilitate difficult conversations between parents, educators, and administrators by offering cultural awareness and conversational tools to build community in difficult times;

Contracted Cultural Consciousness Facilitator, Los Angeles, CA from 2020 to Present contracted with:

❖  ShadeTree Multicultural Center Start Up School Board Treasurer where I was responsible for all financial transactions, budgeting, and accounts as deemed necessary for a Waldorf-inspired Charter School Initiative in Los Angeles Unified School District.
❖  Active contributor in operations, planning, and development where tasks included:

●  Community relationship building and supporting local business;
●  Research of community needs, wants and interests;
●  Research of community history, legislation and infrastructure, and development trends;
●  Aligning Waldorf inspirations to Common Core requirements;
●  Contributing to writing the Charter petition and required documentation for approval.

❖  RISE for Racial Justice, University of San Francisco, Lead Facilitator offering regular online training to the public, educators and administrators on cultural consciousness and racial literacy.
❖  AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America) BIPOC Advisory Board where I lead conversations online to illuminate the relationship between Anthroposophy and cultural diversity for parents, educators, and administrators in addition to working as a consultant to update policies that increase diversity and accessibility of Waldorf education in North America.
❖  AWSNA Reimagining Teacher Preparation Program Researcher where I am developing a teacher training prototype that addresses the obstacles to education as expressed by students
❖  Sound Circle Center for Arts and Anthroposophy Adjunct Faculty as a Teacher Trainer and Consultant to help teachers in training and existing faculty navigate challenging conversations around cultural diversity and curriculum design in person and online.
❖  Alma Partners Associate Facilitator offering online workshops to educators and administrators on racial literacy and awareness in Waldorf public and independent schools in the US and Canada.

❖ Sumac L-STEM Elementary School teacher-candidate where responsibilities included:
● assisting mentor/lead teacher in daily classroom activities and lessons for second graders in a dual language school.
❖ Huntington Learning Center where responsibilities included:

● Tutoring students from first grade through high school in general education in one-on-one settings and in small groups.
